Sunday Music’s Annual New Year’s Concert

The Quincy Sunday Music Series’ New Year opens on January 27 at 4 pm at the Quincy Unitarian Church with its beloved "Dr. Carol Mathieson and Friends" pastiche mixing some very non-traditional music with Sunday Music’s usual blend of classics and favorites.

This year’s blend showcases the artistry of colleagues from Culver-Stockton College ranging in style from baroque trumpet brilliance through suave Brazilian saxophone exoticism and refined French chanson to newly composed film scoring that features interaction between the synthesized orchestral palette and soaring solo violin. The film score was inspired by field work which composer Joseph Skertich and his introductory class did as part of the new music technology program which he and the Sunday Music concert’s pianist Dylan Marney developed for C-SC.

Sunday Music Series offers professional quality chamber music to the greater community free of charge. For further information, contact Dr. Mathieson at 573-288-6435.
